The
mariachi band is part of Texas State University’s Latin Music Studies program.
Founded in 2003, the Latin Music
Studies (LMS) program fosters the performance and study of Latin Music
genres—primarily but not exclusively Mariachi and Salsa—according to the
highest professional and academic standards. LMS seeks to educate
surrounding communities about the rich world of Latin American
Music.
