A Two-Day Event Celebrating the Independence of Mexico

Sidewalk Sale Event & $2 Margarita Bar at Johnny Rockets

The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo is excited to announce its first ever Mexican Independence Day Event featuring a sidewalk sale and an assortment of other events for guests of all ages. The two-day event will take place at The Outlet Shoppes at Laredo on September 15th & 16th.

The celebration will begin Saturday, September 15th at 10:00 AM with a sidewalk sale, featuring name brand merchants and savings of up to 70% off throughout The Outlet Shoppes. Stores will be showcasing merchandise along their storefronts to create a market-style atmosphere. With two levels of amazing "I can’t believe I got this at this price" deals, it’s a mark your calendar kind of sale! The sidewalk sale will run until The Outlet Shoppes close on Saturday at 9:00 PM and then will run again Sunday, September 16th from 11:00 AM till 7:00 PM. While at the sidewalk sale, guests will have an opportunity to visit The Outlet Shoppes’ newest merchants True Religion and Corral Western Wear and the fabulous new restaurant addition, Stone & Stein, a hand-crafted, wood fired pizza experience. 

Saturday’s festivities will also feature a 16 de Septiembre themed Pet Costume Contest beginning at 3:00 PM on the lower level in the Nike Area. Pets will show off their most festive Mexican costumes for a chance to win a $100.00 gift card from Petco and a $100.00 gift card from The Outlet Shoppes for the pet parent. Pets may be signed up at guest services and must show proof of updated vaccines. 

Immediately following the Pet Costume Contest, at 4:00 PM, the Independencia De Mexico Grito Contest will begin. Contestants can show off their Grito skills for a chance to win a $100.00 gift card and the title of La Reina or El Rey of El Grito! For those guests inclined to belt out more than just one Grito, The Outlet Shoppes will break out the Karaoke machine at 5:00 PM. Both the Grito Contest and Karaoke will be on the lower level in the Nike Area.

Free and open to the public, this two-day celebration will feature live music, free sombreros, and free maracas, along with three hours of free parking at all surface lots. For guests over 21 years of age, Johnny Rockets will be offering mouth-watering $2 Margaritas all day Saturday and Sunday.
