UISD & LISD in partnership with Driscoll Health Plan and Texas A&M University Colonias Program will be hosting their 4th Annual Back 2 School Health Fair. Agencies from around the community will be there to offer health screenings, vaccines, backpacks, school supplies, hair cut vouchers, vital information, fun festivities and so much more. The event is FREE and open to the public.

 This workshop will help participants understand and apply growth strategies for their own businesses. Topics on market penetration, market expansion, diversification, timing and other strategies will be discussed. At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to identify opportunity gaps, understand the importance of building successful ventures and the opportunity of expanding to new markets.

After 10 years of classic rock and R&B sounds, the South Texas Food Bank Board decided to change the sound of their staple fundraiser event, Empty Bowls XI, which is set to take place at the Laredo Energy Arena on Friday, August 18, 2017. This year’s band will be the Tex-Mex Power Rock trio, Los Lonely Boys.

The South Texas Food Bank’s Empty Bowls has aimed to both create awareness about the realities of hunger and to celebrate the generosity of those individuals, businesses and organizations that have impacted and furthered the food bank’s mission of feeding the hungry in South Texas.

The event includes: a dinner, a benefit concert and a silent auction featuring artworks from both local and regional artists.

Sponsorship tables of 10 that include dinner and access to silent auction items are available. There are different levels of sponsorship available: Diamond $20,000, Platinum $10,000, Gold $5,000, Silver $2,500 and Bronze $1,500. Individual table tickets are $150. Table Tickets are available at the South Texas Food Bank office located at 1907 Freight at Riverside.

Concert only tickets are $10, $15 and $25. Tickets will are available at the LEA Box office, Ticketmaster.com, Select Ticketmaster outlets or charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

Wings to Go at 2019 NE Bob Bullock Loop will be having a fundraiser for Habitat For Humanity of Laredo on Tuesday August 22^nd from 11am to 11pm.  We would greatly appreciate Friends of Habitat choosing Wings to Go as their destination for lunch or dinner on this day.  A percentage of proceeds of sales on this day will benefit Habitat programs.  Group orders are welcome!
