The mariachi band is part of Texas State University’s Latin Music Studies program. Founded in 2003, the Latin Music Studies (LMS) program fosters the performance and study of Latin Music genres—primarily but not exclusively Mariachi and Salsa—according to the highest professional and academic standards.  LMS seeks to educate surrounding communities about the rich world of Latin American Music.

“In my opinion, Texas State has the best mariachi program in Texas universities,” quips Renato Ramirez, Chairman of the Board of IBC Bank-Zapata. “We are honored and thrilled to host these incredibly talented musicians and to provide our customers an opportunity to enjoy some free festive holiday music.”
