LOCAL GUN RANGE AIMS TO END HUNGER IN

SOUTH TEXAS

Laredo, TX (December 6, 2018) Arena Gun Club, in partnership with IBC Bank and

Commerce Bank, aim to end hunger in South Texas! The latest initiative to benefit the South

Texas Food Bank is the organization’s first ever shooting competition to benefit its food bank

programs.

The Hunger Games Challenge, is set to take place on December 15, 2018 at Laredo’s only indoor

gun range, Arena Gun Club located at 6501 Arena Blvd Ste. 106A. This unique shooting

competition will give the public and local community oriented businesses an opportunity to

compete for prizes and take a “Hunger Hero” award, but most importantly, delivering hope this

upcoming holiday season.

With a staggering poverty rate of 33% faced in our border city, the need is grand! For over 30

years the South Texas Food Bank has been at the forefront combatting the hunger epidemic that

plagues our South Texas cities. Programs such as the Adopt-A-Family program and Commodity

Food Supplemental program, help alleviate hunger in many food insecure households found in

the city of Laredo.

Alma Boubel, STFB Executive Director commented, “We feel beyond grateful and appreciative

that Arena Gun Club took this initiative in helping our communities in need. If there is one basic

need that must be met, it is the need for food. It is with great appreciation that we can call Arena

Gun Club, IBC Bank, and Commerce Bank an exemplary community partner for helping us in

our hunger fighting efforts.”
