Alamo Drafthouse is celebrating the month of February with reduced admission Monday – Thursday, all day.  Starting on February 5^th, all first-run (new release) movie admission will be $5 at Alamo Drafthouse Laredo located at 11210 East Point Dr., Laredo, Texas, 78045.  

Discount admission runs through the entire month of February 2018.  Offer excludes early release films on Thursdays, Friday-Sunday Admission, Special Programing, Private Events and Food/Film Events.  Other restrictions may apply.

Enjoy music while you savor Laredo’s grub with the freshness from Cumbia group The B-OK who are back with their new single 'Quiero Que Sepas'. 

They are known as La Frescura de la Cumbia (The Freshness of the Cumbia), since their style of cumbia-pop conquered a market niche that nobody has occupied at the moment. They have four full-length albums: Así es la vida, Sólo para ti, Son de Boyz y Al Fin. Y un 3 EP: Te Acordarás y Tu Y Yo, Solo Aquí. 

With the previous singles "Te Acordaras," "Tu Y Yo," and "Solo Aquí," they managed to position themselves in the Top 100 of most popular songs in Billboard Magazine. These singles also opened all kinds of doors, from live performances at clubs to dance venues. 

The B-OK is headed by Eliovardo Gracia (Papa) and his brothers Ozzie and Hector Gracia from Durango. They are now settled in Fort Worth, Texas where they established a recording studio and produce for other groups and artists. Other members include Javier Díaz, Eric Pérez, David Ambrosio and Edward Terrazas. 

They have seven years of professional musical experience. The group was previously managed by Martin Fabian from GNG and Alma Munoz from Total Music Ent. At the moment they are Independent.

Performing in the Star Bar is rising country star Stephanie Quayle, who just had the privilege to sing for five former U.S. presidents as part of the hurricane relief concert "Deep From The Heart: One America Appeal" in our very own state of Texas. Quayle has been receiving a good deal of buzz on her rise to stardom from Billboard to Rolling Stone.

If running isn’t your thing, walkers are also welcome and the public is invited to attend the Laredo Medical Center’s Wellness Fair and take advantage of the numerous free health screenings.

Great eats and musical treats set the stage for a day of culture and fun at the much anticipated Laredo Community College Fun Fest and Musicale.
A variety of music and dance ensembles take center stage, inviting local and area musicians and, yes, even belly dancers to share in the spotlight and invoke feelings of merriment at this WBCA staple that dates back to 1988.

Decadent carnival favorites such as tacos, funnel cakes, roasted corn, candy, shish kabobs made of marshmallow and other sweet treats are always on hand to calm the hunger pang and add an enticing aroma to the outdoor activities.

More than just a music and dance festival, this event also boasts a petting zoo featuring exotic animals, rock climbing, face painting, inflatable slides and bounce houses that set a colorful atmosphere perfect for the young and young at heart.

The LCC Musicale, sponsored by the college’s performing arts programs, special guests and performing artists make sure there is something for everyone at this festive event.

Visitors also get a rare opportunity to meet with members of top LCC student organizations and clubs to discuss all that this historic educational facility has to offer.

Host Healthy Heart Awareness Day

February is American Heart Month and Doctors Hospital of Laredo (DHL) is inviting the community to come celebrate healthy heart awareness. The event will be held on Thursday, February 15, from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the main lobby. Doctors Hospital is offering free blood pressure checks, body mass index (BMI), diet and exercise education, CPR information, heart attack and stroke education and much more. Participants must fast for glucose screenings. Healthy snacks, refreshments and giveaways will be available.
