2nd Binational Plastic Art
Exhibition
Featuring
the City of Laredo, Texas and the City of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas
With the objective of promoting cultural identity between
the United States-Mexico border, and giving recognition to the artistic talent
of the border, the Consulate General of Mexico in Laredo, Texas, The City of
Nuevo Laredo 2016-2018, and the Department of Culture and Athletics would like
to announce the 2nd Binational Plastic Art Exhibition, featuring
Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
REQUISITES
OF THIS CONVOCATORY EXHIBITION:
Participants
All women
from Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, are invited to participate in
this event
Themes
We invite
artists to participate in the following themes:
Entries
Each
participant will be able to present a maximum of 2 entries. The artist is free
to use the techniques of choice for her entries.
In
paintings, the size of the entries should not exceed a maximum of 100x100 cm.
In
sculpture, the entry should not exceed a maximum of 100x60x60 cm.
In
photographs, the entry should not exceed the measurements of 100x100 cm.
Please
note that these entries should be easily transportable without the use of any
machinery. These entries should be original works and must not have been prized
or entered in another contest or exhibit
Date and Place of Registration
Registration
for this event will be open from July 5th to the 28th of
2017. Along with the artwork, participants must present an envelope enclosed
with the title of the work(s), picture(s) of the work(s) entered, technique
used, full name of the participant, age, e-mail, and phone number. This same
information must also be sent to the e-mail promcomunitarialar@sre.gob.mx. The
location of submission for Nuevo Laredo is in the offices of Museo Reyes Meza
of the Cultural Center of Nuevo Laredo. The address of this location is on
Blvd. Luis Donaldo Colosio km 2.5, Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas 88000, with working
times from 8:00 a.m. to 15:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For participants of
Laredo, Texas, the submission location is at the Laredo Center for the Arts, located
on 500 San Agustin Ave., Laredo, Texas, 78040, with working times from 11:00
a.m. to 16:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Selection Process and Exhibition
The
entries selected by the judges will be exhibited in both cities for two months
beginning the month of August. The panel of judges will be composed of
personalities and artists that are recognized for their professional and
artistic prestige. The panel of judges will take consideration of the following
criteria: skill, composition and elements (color, line, perspective, texture), creativity,
and interpretation of the themes explored. Once chosen, the judges decisions
are final.

chosen, the finalists will have the following recognitions:
Participation
in the 2nd Binational Plastic Art Exhibition between Laredo, Texas
and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.
Have
the possibility and opportunity to sell their artwork
Obtain
an accredited diploma
Return of Works Exhibited
All of the
entries will be returned once the Plastic Art Exhibition has come to a close on
October 30th of 2017. The location of pickup will be announced with
anticipation prior to this date. Artwork that is not picked up past this date
will remain property of the convening entity.
